The unit provided direct operational training of Air Defense aircrews as might be expected during an attack by enemy offensive aircraft. Ground attack and close air support, 1982-1986. Stood 5-minute alert, seven days a week, 24 hours a day in Burlington, Maine, Virginia and South Carolina, 1988-1997. Participated in Operation Southern Watch, 2000.
